How to Get to Barcelona
By air

Through
Barcelona airport
This is an international airport which is
situated about 13 Km SW of the centre of Barcelona. It has
three terminals: A, B and C.
There is transportation between Airport and the centre of
Barcelona city:
- by taxi :
25 - 30 mins
journey;
- aerobus
(Airport
Bus):
regular express bus service -
the bus stops at all three terminals and is a journey of 25 -
30 minutes.
From Place Catalunya you can get the metro, a bus or taxi.
Purchase the ticket on the bus.
- train (RENFE): Trains only run every half hour and it's about a 5 minute walk
to the station from the terminal. Journey time is about 25 minutes to
city centre. Here it is possible to go from the metro at
either Catalunya stations or Barcelona Sants.
Until further notice, to get to Barcelona Downtown by train
you'll have to change at El Prat station, due to buiding works
for the future high speed train. El Prat is the first station
from the airport, and all trains from the airport end there,
plus the change of platform is well indicated, so there's no
possibility of getting lost.
Transport between Airport Girona and City Centre of Barcelona

Barcelona Bus - transfer:
Journey time is
approximately 1 hour 10 mins;
The bus will take you to Estacio d' Autobusos Barcelona Nord (Barcelona's
main bus terminal) in city centre. From there you can catch
the metro underground system to take you to your final
destination. The nearest Metro stop to the bus station is Arc
De Triomf (Red Line, L1) and is only 5-10 minutes walk from
the bus station.
- Train: From Girona airport you need to make your way
to Girona centre, to the nearest station. You can travel by
taxi or bus (half an hour for the journey). From Girona city
centre, you cath the train transfer between Girona and
Barcelona city centre, the journey duration is approximately 1 hr
and 10 minutes.
- Taxi: expensive option
By train
Estació Central-Sants, Plaça del Països Catalans is the city’s
main railway station, serving national and international
destinations as well as suburban routes. Central-Sants is
situated some distance from the city centre but is located at
the junction of two TMB metro lines – the green line (3) and
the blue line (5).
Another railway station, Estació de França, Avenida Marqués de
l’Argentera, offers mainly southbound regional services.
Estació de França, is situated near the Barceloneta metro
stop.
On some train routes, an alternative to both these stations is
Passeig de Gràcia station, located close to Plaça de Catalunya
and La Rambla. This station is located at the junction of
three metro lines – the purple line (2), the green line (3)
and the yellow line (4).
There are direct trains to Barcelona from:
- Paris (journey time – 11 hours 15 minutes),
- Montpellier (journey time – 4 hours 33 minutes),
- Milan (journey time – 13 hours 13 minutes)
- Zurich (journey time – 13 hours).
There are eight daily departures to Madrid (journey time – 8
hours), including three sleeper services.
Barcelona
has a modern, efficient underground system, with 6 lines,
which allows you easy access to Barcelona´s most famous areas.
