Conference Frequently Asked Questions

1 - Are the papers published in a book?

Yes, the papers are published in a book with ISBN and also on a CD-ROM with ISBN. Both are published by IADIS Press. Best papers will be considered for Journal publication.

2 - Does the page limit include references?

Of course. The page limit includes everything (i.e. title, abstract, figures, tables, references, etc).

3 - When you state 5,000 words for a full paper, does this mean that the paper can have more pages than the 8 page stated?

The paper may indeed have more pages (12 maximum for full paper category) but be aware that you must pay for extra pages after the 8 pages. Even if the paper has less than 5,000 words. What counts for publication is the number of pages, not the number of words. The printing house charges IADIS per page not per number of words. This procedure applies to full papers, short papers, posters and doctoral papers.

4 - What means that the submission must be anonymous?

It means exactly that the paper file must not have any details regarding the authors of the submission (i.e. names, institutions, emails of the authors) - even the name of the file should not have any author names. That information is provided when you register as an author so that we can match the author with the corresponding submission.

5 - Is the submission peer reviewed?

Yes, the submission is peer reviewed by at least two experts in the field. The reviewers don't have any access to author details to gurantee that this does not have any influence in the review made.

6 - If I don't attend the conference is the paper published?

Yes, because IADIS has no way to know before if a person is not able to attend the conference to present it's paper. IADIS prefers that authors attends the conference nut understands that it is sometimes not possible. But it's minimal the number of non-atendants.

7 - If I don't attend the conference do I get the conference proceedings?

You'll  get the proceedings on CD-ROM free of charge. The book or books will be charged for the corresponding postal charge.

8 - I am unable to pay for the registration. Will my paper be published?

Unfortunately we cannot support ourselves the paper publication because organising such conferences involves many costs and IADIS is non profit.

9 - May I pay after the registration deadline and still have the paper published?

No, that's not possible. If you choose to pay very lately or even when arriving at the conference location, the paper won't be published. IADIS had in the past problems with authors that had made compromises to pay and their paper was published and then their payment never arrived and they even didn't attend the conference. So, it's a standard IADIS policy NOT to accept to publish any papers from anyone without payment being made.

10 - I have paid by bank transfer but IADIS is requesting for the bank receipt. Will the paper be published?

No, if IADIS does not have a payment confirmation receipt in the case of bank transfers, we cannot publish your paper.

11 - Can you book the hotel for me?

Sorry but we don't anything to do with hotel bookings. Abreu travel agency should be contacted. Please check the hotel/tour info.
