* Workshop Theme
As the service oriented programming
paradigm matures, web services have an accelerated pace of
adoption by most leading web-based technology companies. Web
services are a group of network-accessible operations that
other systems can invoke through XML messages using the
Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). The technologies have
fundamentally revolutionized ways to analyze, develop and
manage the underlying Internet application systems. Unlike
other technologies such as the common object request broker
architecture (CORBA), using web services makes its easier to
glue components together by exploiting existing web
standards and protocols. While this technology is fast
maturing, there are still fundamental challenges that need
addressing. Thus, this workshop provides a platform for
researchers and product developers to the body of knowledge
on web services by sharing experiences, practices a shared
vision for the evolution of web services and its impact on
the future of Internet computing. The aim is to attract
real world examples to illustrate the advanced practices and
challenges of such technologies, as well as supporting
technologies and infrastructure. Focus will be on issues
relating to how web services directs the future of internet
computing.
Authors are invited to submit theoretical and practical
based research on this area. Topics of interest include
(but are not limited to):
-
Changing nature of Internet
computing
-
Maturity of web services
-
Web service creation, development
and management
-
Web services security, privacy and
quality of service
-
Context-aware computing in Web 2.0
-
Grid based web services applications
-

-
Multimedia applications using web
services
-
